April in a Nutshell

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind around our house. There has been so much going on I don't even know where to start. There have been some things that have happened to the family that are very sad and difficult to talk about. I just ask that if you read this, please pray for the Pharr family, especially Lacy and Phillip, and Mee-Maw. We just pray for strength and peace for them over these next few months as they continue to heal and cope with the events that have recently taken place.
As far as other things going on in April, we celebrated Easter this year at Beka and Jeremy's house. Of course, Caden was not feeling well, but was a trooper and did the best he could. It seems like one of my kids is always sick around this time of year and Caden just happened to be the lucky one. After church we headed over to their house for a yummy lunch. After lunch we had our annual Easter egg hunt in their huge back yard. This was Caleb's first official egg hunt, and he had a blast. I think my competitive nature came out a little during the race. :) Overall, we had a great time and all the kids got more than enough candy to eat. After Jeremy and Beka's, we headed to my Nanny's house to celebrate with my side of the family. Caleb and Caden love going to Nanny's because they are the only great grandchildren and are absolutely spoiled rotten. They had a great time playing with my younger cousins and we enjoyed another delicious meal for dinner. Of course, I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted, but at this point, I will just take what I can get.

We also celebrated my birthday on the 19th with a fabulous dinner and grown up only night out. Thanks to Shane for making me feel so loved and special on my special day! And thanks to the grandparents for watching the boys so we could enjoy a night out. :)

In Progress

We are in the process of potty training Caleb. He has shown interest in using the potty since about 18 months. There are days that he will use the potty and get so excited to have a treat...m and m's or skittles. Then there are days where he could care less. I've been told by several people not to push the issue and he will do it when he is ready. Well, yesterday was one of the days when he was excited to use the potty. He told Shane he needed to poop on the potty. So, Shane let him go and then when he walked in to the bathroom to clean him up, this is what he found...

Shane ran into the kitchen laughing hysterically, grabbed the camera and snapped a pic. I was in my room with Caden and when he brought the camera to me, he just said to look at the picture and tell him what was wrong with it. So, we are not really sure what happened here, but feel we are at least on the right track and making progress. Let's hope that next time it actually makes it into the potty.
